I have had a horn Betty's tea caddy spoon for ages and finally worked out who produced them. I also discovered Abbeyhorn offer a bespoke embossing service to create personalised spoons for each of our daughters. When Abbeyhorn received the order, they rang me to say they could be more flexible in their embossing than their website says and I had a very nice conversation with the embosser, to make sure they got it right. they turned around the order very quickly and now I have some ideosynchratic, early Christmas presents to give out. I placed an order a few days ago for two wide-tooth combs with special instruction of making the pins blunt and smooth for scalp massage purpose, but both of the combs I received are very sharp and with poor quality sanding. I feel very disappointed for the service.

I have long been a firm believer in buying British, and I have always endeavoured to source the items I use from these isles, not least for the quality so often associated with them. When searching for a new shoe horn, I was disappointed to discover that many of the Northampton cobblers offer only cheap plastic examples, which fell well short of the standard I had expected. Happily, I then discovered Abbeyhorn, and I could not be more impressed. It is a genuine pleasure to support an English heritage brand that still crafts its products by hand in the UK - and the quality shows. My shoe horn is beautifully made, and the design is every bit as elegant as I had hoped. I take considerable pride in the fact that my shoe horn now sits comfortably alongside the rest of my British-made wardrobe and accessories. I will certainly be purchasing from Abbeyhorn again.
